Get Behind The Mask – A Movement Led By Airbnb Hosts Across South Africa

#GetBehindTheMask is a movement led by Airbnb hosts across South Africa coming together to support vulnerable communities impacted by the COVID-19 crisis.

Thousands of hosts across the country are challenging each other, as well as their family and friends, to make and donate 50,000 cloth face masks.

With the support of the Western Cape Government and Afrika Tikkun, Airbnb will help to distribute cloth face masks made and donated by hosts on Airbnb to those who need them most. Airbnb is also committing R1.75 million towards this public health initiative. This money will support the making and donating of masks and will also go into a fund to provide financial relief for hosts in under-resourced communities.
